COMMUNITY: Life as a London Playwright and Creative | Tim McArthur, Actor, Director, Presenter, International Cabaret Artist and Playwright
Manage episode 401914792 series 3399920
On this week’s episode, we are joined by renowned actor, international cabaret artist, theatre director, presenter and playwright, Tim McArthur!
Tim shares his journey working in the entertainment industry for over 25 years - from falling in love with pantos and the theatre as a young child growing up in North Yorkshire, to getting his big break (serendipitously) with an audition for drama school in London at 17 years old and getting in, spurring on his illustrious career.
In this episode, Tim opens up about his struggles with health anxiety and how he’s been able to overcome and manage this; and sheds light on the struggles many artists face in the entertainment industry.
He also shares with us his creative process in writing plays, how he approaches directing and leading his cast (hint: it’s heart-centred and human focused) and also offers timeless advice for creatives feeling stuck in their process or feeling resistance.
Tim and I shared so many laughs together in this episode and I learned so much about the entertainment industry through his own illustrative journey working in it!
I hope you will walk away feeling as inspired and motivated as I did, to continue to push through any endeavour you are currently working on!
