Special Edition Olympic Episode: Marcie Lane on Being a Girl in a Male-Dominated Sport
Manage episode 431633691 series 3567933
As we continue our special edition Olympics series, I sat down with Marcie VanDusen Lane, an olympic women's wrestler. Marcie opens about her journey, from wrestling at the Olympics with a torn ACL to starting successful wrestling camps for girls. She also shares her challenges of redefining herself post-Olympics, and the physical and mental hurdles female athletes face, especially during puberty. We also highlight the growing appreciation for diverse body types in wrestling and the importance of promoting strong and confident female athletes in a predominantly male-dominated sport.
