There's been a 'huge" increase in teens and young adults being hospitalized for suicidal thoughts, according to a study published late 2022 in the journal Pediatrics.
Ashley Cox, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Diego, CA, joins the gr@titude podcast to look at the root reasons and behaviors that are causing anxiety, depression, low motivation, conflict and other troubling issues in today's society.
Cox gives an explicit list of habits, practices, and tools we can use to protect our mental health. She also dives into a pov perspective of someone dealing with mental health conditions and how we can recognize the signs to get them help before it could be too late.
Cox is the founder of Vibrant Outcomes Counselings and has been an adolescent and young adult therapist for a decade. She primarily work with teenage and college-age women coping with anxiety, high performing stress, low self-esteem, codependency, and/or relational conflict.
