Interview With A Self-Care Maven
Manage episode 407149819 series 3558296
This is a very special interview I did with my amazing daughter, Stella. She tells her story of how she found her passion for the healing arts after a very stressful time in her life when she was going to college and living in a dorm room. When she told my husband and I that she wanted to drop out of college, it was a little shocking, but it turned out to be the perfect path for her to take. At some point, parenting becomes about sitting back and observing and staying out of the way... Rather than trying to make something happen that YOU think should happen. Stella is a medical herbalist in the Vitalist tradition, a certified massage therapist (Thai Massage), permaculturist, and homesteader. She is wise, grounded and clear about what she wants and it is a breath of fresh air to listen to her talk about the things she holds dear to her heart. In this interview, we discuss self-care, nutrition, sustainable farming practices, medicinal herbs, two of the most crucial nutrients you need to achieve optimal wellness (especially in women) when it comes to ovarian cysts, fibrocystic breast, and thyroid disorders. In this interview, we mention the work of Dr. Jorge Fletchas, Dr. James DiNicolantonio (BOOK-The Salt Fix), and Dr. Brownstein (BOOK-Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It).
