Ever wondered how to break free from your old habits and reinvent yourself as a leader? This episode gives you the tools to do just that. We tackle the challenge of trying new things, harnessing the 'fresh start effect,' and confronting past mistakes. We delve deep into the process of 'rehiring your best self,' sharing actionable strategies to bridge the gap between who you are and who you aspire to be.
Why is trying something new so hard?
As leaders, we're likely thinking...
...everybody is watching so I've got to get it right
...if this fails it will have larger implications
...if I change the way I am doing something am I saying what I was doing is wrong
Fear makes trying new things hard.
That fear keeps you from 'rehiring your best self'. What do I mean?
I mean when you learn something new, want to have a meeting, or believe a specific change will make things better... BUT you don't because of the fear of the awkwardness, failure, or message you're sending.
We need to rehire our best self to be the best leader we can be. Bringing all the learning, growth, and good ideas we can to keep serving and improving our team.
Overcome the fear of trying something new and lead at your best with these 3 simple steps

  • Own the past
  • Communicate that you're practicing
  • Change the cycle

Check out this week's podcast to discover what do in each of those steps to reduce the fear, confidently and humbly communicate the change, and help people change with you.

Plus, this week's questions:
