Manage episode 335554870 series 3324978
In this episode of The Mama Psychedelia Podcast, I interview Becca Evans of Mycoforia,
Becca is a holistic addiction counselor who specializes in using Buddhist frameworks alongside entheogenic medicines and Earth-based practices to guide and empower those experiencing addictive patterns. Becca is a believer in the benefits of harm reduction and self-defined recovery. As a neurodivergent and queer woman, Becca holds non-judgement and accessibility as priorities in her work with others. Becca is also a mother to 2 amazing children who are her biggest teachers. Together we discuss Becca’s journey of becoming an addiction counsellor in her early twenties and how in more recent years this has led her to bridging this realm of addiction counselling and integration work with psilocybin. She shares how mushroom medicine has supported her personal journey with mental health, healing addiction, and postpartum. Her first deep journey bringing more insightful healing then years of therapy & treatment centers combined. We hear about her adolescence and upbringing as well as her early motherhood days, how her birth experiences differed, and how her parenting fundamentals have become unconditional acceptance, non judgment, and elevating self expression. We talk about the lack of connection many face with spirit & self, and how this common thread of disconnection exists amongst many folks that struggle with addiction, and how mushrooms can support.
