Verna Volker @hozhorunner4 has become a force in the running community and a activist for native & indigenous runners and people! . Had the opportunity to learn a bit more about how Verna got into running and her progression from running around the block once to running ultras over 50 miles!! Through running she learned how strong she truly is and helped build confidence, that in turn helped her build @native_women_running ! . Verna created a space for native women runners to feel at home and be seen. However, like running she didnt stop at one trip around the block…she is now using her voice and her platform to bring awareness to other movements like Every Child Matters and Murdered & Missing Indigenous Women. .
