It’s been just over a year since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. And while our communities begin to recover, some of our older adults may never recover money stolen from them in coronavirus scams. Our department helps protect and support victims of these crimes and has a specialized team that helps educate older and at-risk adults. It’s called Curtailing Abuse Related to the Elderly.. or C.A.R.E., and Karina Mariscal is one of their coordinators. She joined theServiceStation to discuss the latest scams against older adults and ways to prevent them.
