In this week’s episode, host Haylie Pomroy is joined by Irina Rozenfeld, a board-certified nurse practitioner, to talk about Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), its effects on the body and working with clinicians to find the right treatment.

The heart rate of individuals with POTS, when moving upright, elevates up to 30-40 beats per minute, depending on age. Patients can also experience tachycardia (Racing heart), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), orthostatic intolerance, and hypotension.

A healthy body should be able to adapt to posture changes. But POTS causes its patients’ heart rate to go up and blood pressure to drop. It also goes with symptoms of other chronic diseases, such as diabetes and anemia

Tune in as we bring you hope and help in dealing with POTS. We at the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine are eager to help you transform body dysregulation into wellness.

Irina Rozenfeld is a Doctor of Nursing at the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine. She is also an Assistant Professor at the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University. Irina worked for over 20 years as a physician assistant in Russia before joining INIM, where she focused on myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic infections, vector-borne illnesses, metabolic syndrome, chronic pain, environmental issues, detoxification, and auto-immune diseases.
