When I was younger, my mother said to me "jealousy is one of the most useless emotions, it serves no purpose" and for a long time I agreed with her.
Jealousy is such a negative emotion, it is often thought of as an emotion that is associated with envy, possessiveness, and mistrust amongst other things. We are taught from an early age that jealousy is bad and that you shouldn't be jealous.
However, what we are not taught, and what I have learnt is that jealousy is USEFUL.
