Many ADHDers struggle with starting tasks.
If a task is boring, too hard or requires too much effort, we are likely to avoid it.
Our brains do a mental calculation of how much dopamine it will cost Vs how much we will get in return and if that calculation determines we will pay more than we'll get, we are not going to start.
In this episode we unpack why we avoid starting tasks, the 3 areas we need to account for in getting started and we run through a variety of ways we can initiate tasks.
