In this episode of STAY FEARLESS, we dive into earning respect, building a culture, & leadership with Payton Alexander. Payton played baseball at Loyola University New Orleans where he etched his name all over the Loyola records book during one of the best careers in program history. Those accolades include 2nd in home runs all time, 2nd in RBIs all time, 2nd in runs all time, 2nd in triples all time, 3rd in hits all time, 3rd in stolen bases all time, 7th in doubles all time, and 8th in batting average all time. He also racked up first and second team all conference selections, a conference player of the year award, an All-American Honorable Mention selection, and a Dr. Leroy Walker Champions of Character Award, which is one of the most prestigious awards in the NAIA awarded to the baseball player that embodies core values, athletic achievement, and academic success most successfully in the nation. Now Payton is taking on medical school. During this episode, Payton talks about the culture change that happened at Loyola and how the centerpiece of it was earning our own respect, earning each others’ respect, and earning the respect of our opponents. He talks about his successes and what led him to be successful. He also talks about his role as a leader and how to properly handle that responsibility in a game of failure.
