Lisa Lockwood danced with American Ballet Theatre for ten years, subsequently with Feld Ballet, and was an original cast member of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. A short list of the choreographers she worked with personally include Anthony Tudor, George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Natalia Makarova, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Glen Tetley, Eliot Feld and Sir Kenneth McMillan.
Currently she teaches at Ballet Academy East. She worked at Steps on Broadway in the open program in New York from 1998. - 2024. She was also a faculty member and Ballet Chair for the School at Steps. She has taught at Broadway Dance Center, Ballet Hispanico, Alvin Ailey, American Ballet Theatre, Julliard, Sarah Lawrence, High School For the Performing Arts, and is much in demand as a guest teacher all over the world: the Metropolitan Opera, The Royal Ballet School (Denmark), Joffrey Ballet, and Edmonton Ballet. She worked closely with Martine Van Hamel for 16 years in the summer Ballet Intensive at Kaatsbaan Dance Center. Additionally she teaches and coaches private students who are motivated to bring their ballet proficiency to the highest possible level.
