Psalm 19: God's Sovereignty
Manage episode 434454019 series 3593359
#1 - God is everywhere and involved in everything; (Omnipresent/Omnipotent/Omniscience)
Be still & Relax: So we often find this hard, but we need to - Recognize that He is in control. He is Sovereign!
Verses 7-8: Reviews His Law, Commands, and His experience (Testimony) and provides an outcome for what each means to His sovereignty and enactment in your life.
#2 - Desire God in your life over everything else; Hunger for the Almighty God!
Exalt & Account - Through your life, people should be able to see The Lord working in you and glean from your experience the truth about who God is and what He has done, and WILL DO.
Verses 9 - 10: Reviews the reverence and fear of God - That is it is enduring forever; His judgements in our lives are True & Righteous at the same time; And we should desire this more than anything else - Truth & Righteousness.
#3 - Nobody knows you, like God and yourself.
Thank Him & Share your perspective/supplication - Thank God for His guideline and His mercy to have you where you are. It is for a reason. If you don’t know what it is, ask God. Seek His council. You can’t get a Godly council from a worldly friend. You have to get it from God who will speak to you directly or through a person He knows & trusts. The key to this though is being honest with yourself on what you are sharing with Him. He knows what it is but He wants to hear from you frankly without reservation.
Verses 11 - 13: Speaks to the warning of God’s word and the guarantee of a great reward. “There is” is italicized for a reason. A promise! For who knows your ways better than God and who can cleanse you of your sins?
#4 - Listen and Live Rightly
Hear Him & Execute - Many of us think God only speaks to certain people but He doesn’t. He doesn’t play favorites. He speaks to everyone, only certain people listen & obey. Everyone should listen and obey God. You know its coming from Him when it aligns with His word and His Character. If it doesn’t align with His word and character, then its coming from you or the devil. You have to discern what it is, and you can do that by removing the distractions and your pride, humbling yourself and listening. If you do that, you’ll hear him. He wants to speak with you!
Verse 14: highlights just this, that let what I am doing be pleasing and acceptable to you, because I am trusting you as my strength and my redeemer.
