FULL OVERVIEW of the Reality-Based Leadership Philosophy
Manage episode 311071169 series 3082332
Here it is you guys! The entire Reality-Based Leadership philosophy in one episode. Many have asked for a full overview with stories and examples to bring the ditch the drama philosophy altogether and this is it. Ready to recapture the 2 hours per day per person that is lost to drama at work? Listen in!
Reality-Based Leadership is a revolutionary leadership philosophy calling for an entirely new role for the leader. Leaders have traditionally been responsible for inspiring others, for motivating others, for engaging others or making their people buy-in. The problem? These are personal choices by the individual and cannot even be the role for the leader.
The role of the leader in today's reality is not to inspire or to motivate another - the true role of the modern leader is to help eliminate emotional waste (drama) from the workplace by facilitating good mental processes. Businesses have laser-focus on eliminating waste from their workplaces with good processes improvement. If you want to eliminate mental/emotional waste from the workplace (2 hours per day in our stats per person) you must be able to facilitate good mental processes and hold people accountable to using these good mental processes that will lead to happiness, high engagement and results.
Learning and practicing the Reality-Based Leadership philosophy will help people recognize the one thing that unites us all and causes us to default into drama - our human condition.
By working to overcome our own human condition and helping others to do the same we will start to lead teams that quickly recognize when they are in drama and help each other get into better mental processes to recapture that precious energy and use it towards better ROI.
In this podcast you will learn:
- How the human condition leads us to stress and stepping down instead of stepping up
- The New Employee Value Equation and the role emotional expensiveness plays in the value we add
- Ways in which drama arises in our daily interactions and how to quickly redirect that energy into a better ROI
- How happiness is a choice when you understand personal accountability
- Reality-Based Thinking and the importance of not believing everything you think
- What it truly means to be aligned to your organization and how to add value in your role at work
- How to drive for results and succeed in spite of the circumstances you believe are holding you back.
